Recycle Clothes Plaza Indonesia: Drop Your Clothes, Join the Movement

In just three seconds, what you’re wearing can change the planet. That t-shirt you tossed last week? It could’ve been a new one—just reborn. Now imagine if all of us gave our clothes a second life. This July, Sejauh Mata Memandang (@sejauh_mata_memandang) and EcoTouch (@ecotouch_id) are making that vision possible with a powerful campaign to recycle clothes Plaza Indonesia.

From now through July 31, 2025, you’re invited to drop off your used, worn, or forgotten clothing pieces at The Space – Level 2, Plaza Indonesia, and be part of something bigger than just fashion.

Why Recycle Clothes at Plaza Indonesia?

Fashion is one of the most polluting industries in the world. Over 92 million tons of textile waste are produced each year, and much of that ends up in landfills, where it takes decades to break down. By choosing to recycle clothes Plaza Indonesia, you’re:

  • Reducing textile waste
  • Conserving water and energy used in production
  • Supporting ethical consumption habits

Through small actions like dropping off a shirt or a pair of jeans, you help build a circular fashion ecosystem—where nothing goes to waste and everything has potential.

Recycle Clothes Plaza Indonesia with Sejauh Mata Memandang x EcoTouch

This isn’t just a one-off campaign. Sejauh Mata Memandang has long been known for its commitment to ethical and sustainable fashion. Partnering with EcoTouch, a pioneer in textile recycling, this initiative embodies the essence of responsible fashion.

What Happens to Your Clothes?

Once donated, your garments undergo a meticulous recycling process:

  1. Sorting – Clothes are sorted based on material and condition.
  2. Recycling – Suitable textiles are broken down into fibers.
  3. Re-spinning – The fibers are turned into new yarn.
  4. Rebirth – That yarn becomes new fabrics, ready for a second life.

Each piece donated contributes directly to reducing environmental impact. Instead of producing new raw materials, we reuse what we already have.

The Location: Recycle Clothes Plaza Indonesia at The Space – Level 2

Strategically located in one of Jakarta’s most iconic shopping centers, this campaign brings recycling to the heart of lifestyle and fashion. Whether you’re shopping, grabbing a coffee, or just passing through, it only takes a few minutes to participate.

Not sure where to go? Look for the Recycling Box near The Space, Level 2. Friendly volunteers and staff are also ready to guide you through the process.

What You Can Donate

You can bring in:

  • T-shirts
  • Shirts
  • Jeans
  • Dresses
  • Scarves
  • Any clean, dry fabric-based item

Please note: only wearable textiles and fabrics are accepted. Shoes, undergarments, and heavily soiled clothing will not be processed.

Recycle Clothes Plaza Indonesia: A Movement for Circular Fashion

This initiative is not happening in isolation. It’s part of a global push toward fashion sustainability. Major brands and organizations are beginning to embrace circular models, and local movements like this one are making the change accessible.

By participating, you’re not just decluttering your wardrobe. You’re making a statement:

“I care about what I wear—and where it ends up.”

Impact Beyond Fashion

Did you know? Producing one cotton t-shirt consumes up to 2,700 liters of water—the equivalent of what one person drinks in 2.5 years. Recycling just one item saves this resource, along with energy and emissions.

Community Benefits

  • Educates the public on sustainable choices
  • Supports local recycling infrastructure
  • Encourages mindful consumerism

Your single donation becomes a ripple in a much larger wave.

How to Maximize Your Impact

Want to do more?

  • Spread the word on social media. Use hashtags like #SecondLifeFashion #RecycleJakarta
  • Bring friends to donate together
  • Ask questions and educate yourself on slow fashion

Better yet, start organizing your own mini-collection drives in your community or office.
